Our Mission
The Asheville-Buncombe-Madison Career Pathways Partnership is dedicated to:
- Providing students with seamless educational opportunities that bridge high school, college, and career.
- Creating and maintaining avenues for tuition-free college credit for high school students who are bound for both two-year and four-year institutions of higher education.
- Cultivating student success through dual enrollment.
Our Organization
Executive Committee:
- Superintendents of Asheville City, Buncombe and Madison County Schools, President of A-B Tech, and President/CEO of the Chamber of Commerce
The Career Pathways Steering Committee
- Charged with implementing the Partnership's annual goals and objectives and meets monthly. The Committee links Workforce Development and Career Pathways. The Executive Council appoints one representative from each organization to serve on the Steering Committee.
Committees
- Partners in Education - Leadership is provided by the Workforce Development Department of the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce; members include representatives from both the business and education communities
- Curriculum and Staff Development - Members to include Vocational Directors and representatives from each high school (Assistant Principals), the AB Tech Faculty, Business/Industry
- Communication and Marketing - Initial focus on Graduation Requirements, Career Pathways, Huskins, and Rave; members to include representatives from the 3 school systems, A-B Tech, and Business/Industry
- Grant Development and Evaluation - Proposal development, submission, administration, and evaluation of Career Pathways Partnership outcomes; members to include all existing Tech Prep Committee members (the 3 school systems, A-B Tech) and representatives from Business/Industry.
