We offer challenging academic courses such as biology, history, information systems, and psychology. Or shape your future while working toward a career in Computer Engineering, Heavy Equipment and Transport, Automotive Systems Technology, Criminal Justice, and more.
There are five different ways to earn both high school and college credit: Afternoon College, Dual Enrollment, A-B Tech at High School, Learn and Earn Online, and RAVE. College credits earned through one of these five programs can be used at A-B Tech or many four-year colleges or universities. Find out more below.
Afternoon College
A-B Tech offers technical and college transfer courses for high school juniors and seniors.These classes are set up on the A-B Tech campus specifically for high school students, yet carry the same rigor as the classes offered to college students.
- For qualified high school juniors and seniors in Asheville City, Buncombe County or Madison County Schools.
- Earn college credit.
- Tuition-free (Students are required to purchase texts and materials.)
- Although a majority of Afternoon College students are high school, a number of classes include college students as well.

Dual Enrollment
A-B Tech partners with the Asheville City, Buncombe County and Madison County Schools to offer college credit to their students through the Dual Enrollment program. This is a unique opportunity for high school students to attend classes at A-B Tech with their college counterparts.

A-B Tech at High School
To jump start your future by taking classes at your high school that will start you on your path to a college degree or diploma.
- College classes on your high school campus, such as Criminal Justice and Early Childhood Education.

Learn and Earn Online
Juniors and seniors at most area high schools can tap into college classes through Learn and Earn Online without even leaving their high school campus.
- Online classes that students can take in facilitated classrooms at their high schools.
- Tuition-free.

RAVE (Regional Articulation in Vocational Education)
If you are thinking about attending a community college, or your goal is to obtain a certificate,diploma, or A.A.S. degree in a career technical field,you may be able to earn articulated credit while you are still in high school. RAVE is college credit for high school classes.This credit is available through A-B Tech and many of the state's community colleges. If you want to get a head start on the future, consider taking courses at your high school that grant articulated college credit.
